A new roof for the UK’s leading twine manufacturer’s 24 hour warehouse!
HS RoofClad’s specialist team were tasked with the safe removal of 4000m2 of an asbestos cement roof and 600m2 of asbestos cement wall sheets.
Replacing the old and unsafe roof with a new twin-skin trapezoidal system with all associated flashings, RWPs & RWOs. GRP Skylights were also installed, allowing additional natural light to enter the building.
Working closely with ITM, HS RoofClad were able to ensure that the process was undertaken to meet and exceed required standards, and stringent Health and Safety requirements whilst minimising disruption of a busy 24/7 manufacturing factory.
To ensure our teams worked safely at height, the entire building was safety netted and scaffolded. Groundworks and full site clearances were undertaken by HS RoofClad prior to the work starting on site, allowing our specialist team to have full 360 access around the factory.
During the work taking place, there was an unexpected spot visit from HSE which was signed off by one of their head officers. Following the visit, we were informed that our team had gone above and beyond to meet health and safety regulations whilst working at height and with asbestos.
