Manchester Waters – Roofing Solution

Part of the Pomona Dock Regeneration Project

Over the last several months, HS RoofClad, in partnership with Vermont Capitol, has been involved in the X1 Manchester Waters development in Salford Quays, Manchester. The aim of the project is to construct two high rise buildings within a prominent location in Salford Quays, which is home to one of the fastest growing local economies in the North West. The towers that are being developed are set to provide an abundance of modern studio apartments, including those with balconies and waterside views looking across the Manchester Ship Canal towards the city centre.

The team has been provided with the task of providing the Roofing for the buildings. The job is part of the regeneration of the Pomona Islands dockland, which is due for completion in 2022. This is currently one of the largest construction projects taking place within the Greater Manchester area.

The Project

Before work could begin, HS RoofClad needed to take part in thorough inspections of the current structures and equipment present throughout the X1 Manchester Waters portfolio. After finishing the inspections, the team could begin installation. The team installed a new Sika Sarnafil flat roofing system, as well as a Bauder Bakor waterproofing system on the Podium Levels. These industry leading solutions ensure that the roof exceeds the needs of the client and surpasses the relevant Health and Safety checks.
