Trafford Leisure are responsible for 10 of Manchester’s sports centres, working alongside Trafford Council to improve the levels of physical activity taking place in the borough.
Each week Trafford Leisure help over 9,000 children learn to swim, over 1,300 children take part in gymnastics, over 40,000 golf balls are hit and assist members of community in taking the first steps towards becoming active.
Trafford Leisure were experiencing ongoing water ingress issues across multiple sites. Each site had its own requirements, from a full roof overlays to small temporary patch repairs and the Facilities Management team contacted HS RoofClad for a cost-effective solution within budgeted funds.
Whilst there we also identified other issues such as blocked RWP and outlets, these where addressed by the removal of the blockages from the pipes, the cleaning of all gutter runs and the installation of RWO guards to prevent this occurring further.
Across four sports centres, HS RoofClad’s specialist team repaired a total of 420m2 leaking roof space with products from the Sika Liquid Plastic range, offering varying guarantees from 10 to 25 years.
Due to numerous rainwater systems creating water issues across three of these sports centres, HS RoofClad’s team also completed replacement and repair works to ensure that rainwater can flow freely to downpipes in future downpours, including the installation of RWO guards.
Trafford Leisure’s sports centres are now free from all identified roof leaks, with water ingress issues mitigated through specialist roofing and rainwater system replacements and repairs.
